If you are in a taxi or a chauffeured car, approach the Centre along Jalan Pinang and turn left into the main entrance (second turn after the Mandarin Oriental Hotel) for dropping off.

If you are driving, here are your parking options:

1. Take the first left after the Mandarin Oriental Hotel from Jalan Pinang up the ramp to the access to the car parking below the Centre.

2. Park in KLCC Suria Car Park and exit to the Concourse level Centre Court. Make your way past Cold Storage to the Guardian Pharmacy where there is a walkway (open from June 12, 2005) through to the Convention Centre. Take the elevator to the Ground Floor where you will be directed to the Registration area.

By LRT
Take the Light Rail Transit (LRT), Putra Line to KLCC station. Turn left after exiting the turnstiles and walk through the Suria KLCC shopping centre Concourse Level to the Centre Court. Turn left and make your way past Cold Storage to the Guardian Pharmacy where there is a walkway (open from June 12, 2005) through to the Convention Centre. Take the elevator to the Ground Floor where you will be directed to the Registration area.

On Foot
From the Suria KLCC shopping centre Ground Floor centre court take the park exit into the KLCC Park and turn right. Follow the Esplanade along towards the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and then follow the path around the edge of the park towards the centre of the building and enter via the Park Entrance.

Taxis
A fast, safe and relatively economical way to get about, especially if you are a first time visitor. Make sure that the meters are on as soon as you get in and avoid negotiating fares upfront. Surcharges apply after midnight and during heavy rain.

By Bus
There is a bus service available for those who want to get first hand street experience of Kuala Lumpur. RapidKL and Metro Bus are bus networks which allows you to travel more efficiently and effectively around the Klang Valley. Conveniently, City Bus or City Shuttles are available, to travel around the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

Airport taxis
Airport Limo (M) Sdn Bhd offers a 24-hour budget and premier airport taxi service to and from KLIA. You may purchase tickets at an official counter, situated just inside the exit doors of the arrival hall. Prices are fixed according to destination. The journey to Kuala Lumpur takes approximately one hour. Tickets are purchased at an official counter .

Kuala Lumpur International Airline
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is only 28 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur city. It is located 75 kilometres (35miles) south of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC); an hours drive by direct motorway link or 28 minutes on the KLIA Ekspress Rail Link (ERL).

 




As a maiden event with a recorded visitorship of 320,000 visitors in 2006, following by the overwhelming success of exceeding 400,000 visitorship in 2007, BookFest @ Malaysia had proven and declared a success with confidence in a positive market of consumer Exhibition, foreign trade attraction and a platform to become an annual mega event.

The presence of the participating countries from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and United Kingdom reflected the unlimited access of good books and publications. Exhibitors and visitors alike were drawn to the BookFest by an exemplary range of attractions, whether its products or events on site, including the prestigious venue of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, located next to the Petronas Twin Towers, a prominent landmark that houses one of the shoppers heaven, Suria KLCC.

BookFest@Malaysia 2008, with the theme “READING EMPOWERS”, showcasing more than a million books by both Overseas and Local publishers is now into its third year. Held for a duration of 9 days, the BookFest will be presented in yet another massive and exciting event from 24th May until 1st June 2008, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, KLCC, Halls 1-5, stretching across the first week of the school holidays.

Covering an area of approximately 100,000 sf., the BookFest provides a platform for the potentials of trade alliance for mutual benefits and gain an insight in implementing successful strategies to create business market in the Asian Industry.  To complement the BookFest, a series of fun-filled and exciting activities is planned throughout the whole duration.   BookFest@Malaysia 2008, tailored to reflect the conscientiousness in education, the stability of economic growth, the rich culture and heritage of a multi racial country.

 

The programmes are divided into 2 segments :

1) Exhibition
The exhibition showcases the latest books published in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and United Kingdom. The theme for this year will is “Reading Empowers”. The BookFest will be officially launched on 23th May 2008. Therefore, the exhibition will be opened from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm from 24th May to 1st June 2008. Admission is chargeable at RM 2 per ticket. FREE admission for students 18 years & below and senior citizen 60 years & above


2) Events
A series of fun-filled and exciting activities will take place during the exhibition. Learn new methods of implementing successful strategies to create a market for your business in the Asian market and gain an insight into adapting your business to the Asian market through keynote presentation. Allocation Space
At the fair, the exhibition layout is optimized across the 5 adjoining halls in the Convention Centre. The layout provides the best possible visitor flow, whilst maintaining a strong cultural theme.

Shell Scheme Space
When you take up a shell scheme space, you are entitled to use a stand design. It is perfect for those who need to build a stand in the shortest time and without any hassle. The proposed packages provide the necessities. Option to enhance your stand design is available. The minimum size for a shell scheme is 9sqm.
